Tim Elliott retired from Erie County in 2002. He worked at the county Highway Department as crew chief and retired after 32 years of service. During his time working for the residents of Erie County, Tim was an active member of AFSCME Local 1095 and following retirement he joined the Retired Public Employees Association. Tim joined RPEA at the recommendation of a friend and after thoroughly enjoying meetings and receiving legislative updates relevant to his earned benefits, he accepted an appointment to the Western New York Chapter Steering Committee as member at-large. Tim was later officially elected as a member, led the chapter’s financial committee, and worked to streamline the organization’s operations. Five years ago Tim was nominated as Western New York Chapter chair and remains in that post today in addition to his newly-elected position to RPEA’s board of directors. Tim’s interest in the board is to ensure that voices from Western New York are heard. A lifelong resident of Western New York, Tim was raised in the suburb of Amherst and currently lives with his wife, Elaine, in Lancaster.
