Chris Farber

Chris is the retired sheriff of Herkimer County, elected in 2003, and served in that capacity for 16 years. While serving in the Sheriff’s Office he served on multiple advisory committees both on the state and local levels. He held every office in the NYS Sheriffs Association, serving as president in 2016, and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award along with being selected for a lifetime membership. Before his career as sheriff, he served as the justice for the Town of Little Falls in Herkimer County from 1983 to 2003. He has been a member of the NYS Magistrates Association and the Herkimer County Magistrates Association for 42 years. He currently is a correctional consultant for a national company focusing on rehabilitation, education, re-entry and keeping incarcerated individuals connected with family members.
