Members have access to a wide range of benefit programs most of which can be purchased at discounted rates. Our approach is to adopt quality programs that not only address member needs but also provide value.
The following is an outline of benefits currently available. This is an insurance program that provides coverage for an individual member; member and spouse; or member, spouse and children.
It provides paid-in-full benefits for covered dental services with no claim form to file, after you meet the $25 calendar year deductible per person, if you use a GHI participating provider. If you prefer to use your current dentist who is not a GHI participating provider, you pay the dentist and submit a claim to GHI for reimbursement of covered expenses using the GHI Preferred fee schedule. There is a $1,500 cap on annual coverage for each person.
Special prosthetic coverage (bridges, crowns, etc.) may be available at additional cost.
Note: GHI “Preferred” members and their households are also automatically enrolled in the Eye Med Vision Care discount vision plan at no additional charge.

This is a HMO dental plan with low, pre-set patient charges for visits to a nationwide network of dentists and, upon referral, dental specialists. Cigna enrollees are provided free access to Cigna’s Identity Theft Program, which covers all types of identity theft

Our CIGNA Dental HMO plan does not have an annual cap or deductibles.
Dental Pay Direct
This is a low-cost discount dental program available to members and their households at a nationwide network of participating dentists. A free vision savings plan, VSP, is included with the dental plan. Annual membership fees are: $65 member only, $115 member plus one and $145 member plus 2 or more.

Long-Term Care Insurance
Members receive a significant discount when purchasing long-term care insurance through our plan administrator, the National Corporate Benefits Administrators (NCBA). Working in conjunction with New York Long Term Care Brokers, a wide range of policies with major insurance companies are available that cover skilled, short-term and custodial care in nursing homes as well as at home; in assisted living facilities and adult day care facilities.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance
There are several plans available that secondary coverage for Medicare eligible members for hospital, medical and other services. These plans are designed for persons who do not have any other heath insurance coverage. Call our plan administrator, NCBA at (888) 376-6020 for more information.
Hearing Instrument Plan
Members are eligible to participate in this plan provided by “Hear in America.” By using this plan, members and their families considering the use of hearing aids can be assured of receiving an honest evaluation of their needs. If hearing instruments are needed, they will be provided by Hear in America’s associated providers at discounted prices. Access to this plan is free to RPEA members.
If you are an Empire Plan member, Hear in America coordinates with the Empire Plan. This is an insured plan in which you pay an annual enrollment of $125 per person, a $25 co-pay for most frames and a $10 co-pay for an eye exam. Services are provided through Spectera, a nationwide network.

EyeMed Vision Care
Members of this plan and their household receive a discount on eyeglasses at participating providers from a nationwide network. There is an annual enrollment fee of $21.85.
